Why community needs to engage into Creative Thinking?
The world and society are advancing at a considerable speed. We need to ready ourselves with the ability to adapt to this trend, to survive and succeed. We can achieve great success by facing challenges and responding to them with a new way of thinking and self-confidence.
Social Innovation has most often come from collection of individuals in a community. This is because innovation invariably originates from creating new ideas, thoughts, new ways to blend old and new ideas and resources to create new technologies and solutions, products and services. Those combinations usually come from people with different ideas, knowledge and insights finding one another and coming together. Out of their conversations and collaboration come new mixes and blends.
Urban Social innovation, which otherwise is dormant along with limited development driven by community couldn’t be realized without creative thinking. Communities have sustained innovation because as they share ideas they can mutate and grow, especially at they adapt to new conditions.
Over time communities have become further diverse, challenged on any new aspects, families have become nuclear, life has paced up and all this has its own impact on communities’ bond & live together. The social, political & economic environment around our habitat is highly dynamic. This change is posing new challenge for us to survive & live happily. The growing middle & cosmopolitan class is shifting the way we live & conduct ourselves socially. Rapid advent of technology has added further challenge to all these.
Do we represent ourselves as "Though-leader Professionals” in a "Thinking Community” …?
The question is, are we unbecoming of "Thinking Communities". Our civilization & country has been a benchmark globally for what we could achieve by amalgamating our diversity, but somewhere on the journey we seem to have drifted from the power & spirit of our community foundation.
Indeed, there are efforts especially in urban habitat to bring people together with certain social initiatives be it around health, fitness or art.
The concern here remains whether we are coming together as though-leader group in finding creative solutions to our social & cultural issues & challenges, and making positive contributions to community development, general health & emotional wellbeing of our people.
Creative Thinking is a powerful tool to find creative & unique solutions for existing issues & challenges around. It could pave way forward to us to cope up with the unknown that could be bestowed on us in times to come.
